Earn your volunteer hours early by bringing your family to the TMA Garden Workday on September 29 from 8-2 pm. HEROES and the Garden Team will be there preparing the garden for our children to start planting, exploring, and composting. Bring gloves, hats, sun block, and lots of water. Garden Beautification Day is coming up on April 21st from 8-1 pm.

Short on Volunteer Hours? Come help spruce up the garden and get your hands a little dirty! Don’t forget to bring your hats, gloves, sun-block, snacks and of course plenty of water! We can use all the hands we can get for all or just a portion of the time.

btsn.jpgBack to school night is just around the corner, Tuesday, Sept. 4. Be sure to stop by the garden to see a cooking demo and while you’re there take a stroll around the grounds with your family.

Ask your kids about their favorite garden memories or what they look forward to learning this year. If you get some good stories, please share them with us and maybe they’ll be featured in an upcoming blog post.

Upcoming Dates to Remember

open house
Open House is next Wednesday, May 30. Come see what all the excitement is about in the TMA garden. All the children have been exploring the garden this year and can take you on a tour. Encourage your child to show you what they have learned and how proud they are of their garden. Ask them about some of the highlights like the water cistern, rain chains, compost bins, worm bins, native garden, etc.

New Volunteer Position

Looking for a great volunteer job that can be done completely from home? We’re looking for a new Garden Communicator who communicates with the GMs about the class weekly visits to the garden. A great job for someone who works full-time and is not able to be on campus much. If interested, please contact Joyce Howie.
